My wife has recently set up a Maternity, Newborn & family photography business.  She has a small studio at home and the option to take the studio mobile so can come to your location for a more relaxed feel in need be. She doesn't charge over the top prices for single prints once you have had the photos done like some of the larger chains do. She charges a reasonable amount for a studio session fee which covers her time preparing for the shoot, taking the photos, and the editing after along with the final gift wrapping so to speak. You are then free to get as many of the photos as you want printed at a printers of your choice which drastically reduces the price. rather than getting to a "photo viewing" to be told that if you wanted that lovely picture blown up on a canvass it will be £250 and £20 each for a few 6 x 4" photos.
